Process and expectations for SR introductions

In order to be able to guarantee the stable and secure productive eIAM service, we require meaningful regression tests of the applications in the REF and ABN instances until the SR rollout to PRODUCTION. You have at least 14 days per stage to do this. Please plan your test activities early in these periods so that any bug fix releases are possible in good time.

These release notes will help you to plan the regression tests in relation to the eIAM functionalities you use and will also serve as a source of information for your end customer communication. Please note that the final version of the release notes with all necessary details will be delivered shortly before the productive installation.

Important
If you encounter problems during your regression tests, please inform our testing team immediately at: Testing-eiam@bit.admin.ch. Our colleagues will take your input, check it and consolidate it. We would like to thank you for your important assistance and support in order to maintain and further improve the high quality standard of the service releases!

Bundes Trustbrokers (BTB)

With the Syrah Service Release, we will also proactively roll out and activate the BTB. With this further development of the trust broker as a federation component for eIAM, we are setting the course for the future. We are eliminating technological dependencies and reducing complexity in the eIAM architecture. At the same time, the further development enables the component to remain fit for important future requirements. The federal trust broker has already been running transparently in the background in stealth mode for two months. This procedure enabled us to continuously correct the errors. The purely technical migration of an application to the BTB should be transparent for all applications and should be carried out without any disruptions. It is carried out in the same way as the FED-LOGIN 2.0, is strictly managed including a task force and includes a rollback option should any problems arise. We are convinced that this will enable us to identify any unexpected problem areas more easily and quickly and to initiate and implement the necessary measures in a targeted manner.

New design MyAccount - Login & Security

With the rollout of the service release Syrah, the design in MyAccount under the heading "Login & Security" changed. The old tile look was replaced by a newly structured layout, which should lead to an improved customer experience.

The administration, maintenance and functional expansion of your FED/CH-LOGIN's and their credentials have been divided into two clearly arranged topic blocks

  1. Account Details where you can manage and maintain your e-mail address, password and security questions.
  2. 2FA Management (two-factor authentication) where you can manage, maintain and extend your credentials in order to independently increase your trust level according to application requirements.

The adapted quick guides for the CH-LOGIN and FED-LOGIN can be found under

eIAM Support

To already try out the new layout in MyAccount, you can log in to the REF or ABN environment here: REF: REF: MyAccount / ABN: MyAccount

Important: If you still use your own user guides, they must be updated accordingly. However, we recommend using or linking to the new quick guides provided by eIAM.

Type: YubiKey 5C NFC
Type: Yubico YubiKey 5C

Currently, nHEC+ only accepts the Mobile ID credential for VIPS verification. With the Syrah release, a FIDO security key can now also be used and verified as an alternative. The user is thus given the choice between two credentials.

BYOI new IdP Canton Bern

With the Syrah release, an additional IdP is added to the BYOI bundle. This is the IdP "BE eID" which is provided by the Canton of Bern. All users who have an eID from the Canton of Bern will be able to log in via this IdP in future.
