eIAM list of IdPs

eIAM mediates authentication services from various internal and external identity providers (IdPs) to applications of the Federal Administration. These identity providers are divided into three groups.

IdP group "FED-LOGIN"

Intended for federal administration employees (and affiliates) who are registered in HR and act in this role.

FED-LOGIN stands for ‘Federal Administration Logins’ and includes authentication via smart card, FIDO security key, the Access app, Kerberos and MDM.

IdP Group: «BYOI» (AGOV and others)

Intended for all natural persons acting on their own behalf or on behalf of a legal entity (e.g. representatives of industry), but not for HR-unregistered employees of the Federal Administration (and affiliates). IdPs from this group cannot be ordered individually, only the entire group is always made available.

BYOI stands for Bring Your Own Identity and includes login methods such as AGOV, CH-LOGIN, EDA-LOGIN, edu-ID and cantonal logins.

IdP Group: «Sector-IdPs»

Sector IdPs are all identity providers that are only visible for certain applications or specialised areas in eIAM.

A special case that is rarely used are sector IdPs. These are login methods such as the military's V-LOGIN, HIN-LOGIN for the medical profession, PTI-LOGIN for the police, etc. These are activated individually for suitable applications, and special conditions apply.
