Regression testing by eIAM customers

Your cooperation is necessary and very important. In the last releases, we had problems in the higher operating environments (ABN, PROD) only where applications had not carried out their regression tests in advance on REF and/or ABN. These are unnecessary problems which we can avoid together. We count on your support here. It is important that you carry out your regression tests carefully and report any problems to the testing team promptly and in a qualified manner.

Process and expectations for SR introductions

In order to be able to guarantee the stable and secure productive eIAM service, we require meaningful regression tests of the applications in the REF and ABN instances until the SR rollout to PRODUCTION. Normally you have 10 working days at your disposal for this. Please note that in the first 2 days after installation you can benefit from an Early Live Support Team that will assist you promptly in the case of problems.

These release notes will help you to plan the regression tests in relation to the eIAM functionalities you use and will also serve as a source of information for your end customer communication. Please note that the final version of the release notes with all necessary details will be delivered shortly before the productive installation.

Important
Let us know your test results (positive or negative) via Feedback form customer regression tests. (only accessible from the Federal Administration network) so that any service release corrections can be made in good time.

Changes - Innovations

Replacement of eID+ Schaffhausen with AGOV (BYOI Bundle)

As of 31 December 2024, the Canton of Schaffhausen will no longer operate its identity provider "eID+". This was offered in the past as one of the cantonal IdPs in the so-called "Bring your Own Identity (BYOI) Bundle" by eIAM. The Canton of Schaffhausen now uses "AGOV" the Swiss authorities login as an identity provider. The users who used eIAM with an "eID+" from the canton of Schaffhausen have already been proactively informed by the canton of Schaffhausen.

For you as an eIAM customer, nothing changes, because the change of a person from the "eID+" identity of the canton of Schaffhausen to an "AGOV" identity is transparent for the applications.

Further information on the "eID+" replacement can be found here:

Replacement of BE-Login with AGOV (BYOI bundle)

The "BE-Login" can be used in eIAM as a so-called BYOI (Bring Your Own ID) identity provider. From 1 December 2024, the Canton of Bern will use "AGOV", the Swiss authorities login. By mid-2025, the BE-Login identities will be transferred to AGOV. The end users who have used online services of the Federal Administration with their BE-Login in the past and are now using AGOV must also switch from BE-Login to AGOV in eIAM. This is so that they can continue to access the services of the Federal Administration after BE-Login no longer appears as an identity provider. The following measures have been implemented to support end users in switching from BE-Login to AGOV in eIAM:
  • Personal information on 17 January 2024 by email to all persons who already use BE-Login in eIAM.
  • The new use of BE-Login accounts in eIAM is prevented - End users are shown an information page with instructions for using eIAM with AGOV.
  • End users who already use eIAM with BE-Login are reminded of the need to switch to AGOV each time they log in to eIAM. End users can view the instructions for using eIAM with AGOV directly. It is still possible to log in with BE-Login.
This does not change anything for you as an eIAM customer, as the change of a person from the "BE-Login" identity of the Canton of Bern to an "AGOV" identity is transparent for the applications.

Further information on the "BE-Login" replacement can be found here:

eIAM Admin Portal – user search across all authorised units

The user search function has been improved in the eIAM Admin Portal, which is used to manage authorisations in eIAM – particularly in the context of delegated management.

Previously, an administrator with authorisations for multiple units first had to select a specific unit before they could search for an existing user within that unit. With the Jungfrau release, an administrator can now search across all units for which they have authorisation.

This new feature makes it easier for administrators with authorisations for multiple units to do their work and reduces the risk of inadvertently creating multiple profiles for the same user.

Details can be found at: eIAM Admin Portal

AGOV-First (preliminary information)

With the "Jungfrau" release, a few new features will be rolled out in the eIAM service that are directly effective for you as a customer. In recent weeks, the eIAM service has been working intensively on preparations for "AGOV-First". It is planned to roll out "AGOV-First" for our customers in the eIAM reference environment (REF) with the "Lenzspitze" release, while "AGOV-First" will be rolled out with the "Liskamm" release (i.e. one release later than the reference environment) in the acceptance and production environments of eIAM. This is done in such a way that you, as an eIAM customer, have enough time to thoroughly test "AGOV-First" in the reference environment and, if necessary, to adapt your user documentation.

Information about "AGOV-First", the next phase in the replacement of CH-LOGIN with AGOV (CH2A), was provided at the eIAM information event on 15 November 2024.
