This article deals generally with the deletion of user accounts in the Identity and Access Management of the Federal Administration. A distinction is made between account types:
For accounts of the login procedure FED-Login, which are controlled by processes of the Human Resources Department (HR processes), the account holders cannot directly submit deletion requests; this applies to employees and other affiliates such as cantonal employees.
For accounts of the login procedures CH-LOGIN and AGOV, which can represent a natural person in different roles (natural person for themselves or acting for a legal entity), deletion requests can be submitted.
Consequences of cancellation
If you have your CH-LOGIN or your AGOV-LOGIN deleted, you will lose all access and potentially even all associated data to the eGovernment services of the Confederation, the cantons and their communes used with it. The cancellation cannot be reversed. If you open a new account at a later date, your access will still be lost. In this case, you will have to repeat the onboarding process with all affected eGovernment service providers and possibly re-enter a lot of data.
Technical implementation of deletion
During deletion, your account is removed from the usable data room and moved to an archive. The archive entry is inactive, cannot be reactivated and is subject to the higher-level retention guidelines of the administrative processes due to traceability requirements. This technical implementation is subject to the legal framework Ⅱ in accordance with , in particular regulated by Art. 25 para. 1 IAMV regarding "secure and orderly operation".
